I tessili intelligenti presentano un problema ricorrente con le fonti di alimentazione e la loro permeabilità all'umidità, che causa il malfunzionamento dei dispositivi.Un team dell’istituto di ricerca coreano KAIST sembra aver superato questo problema, sviluppando una tecnologia di display portatili a base tessile, lavabili e senza necessità di fonti di energia esterne, che incorporano celle solari polimeriche e diodi elettro-luminescenti organici (OLED).
